Crowdmed logoHealthtech startup CrowdMed, a crowdsourced medical diagnosis platform, has closed a $2.4 million Seed funding round. Investors include actor Patrick Dempsey, NEA, Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Y Combinator and SV Angel. The San Francisco-based company was founded in fall of 2012 by serial entrepreneur Jared Heyman, who was inspired by his sister’s struggle with getting a debilitating illness accurately diagnosed. The team previously raised Seed funding totaling just north of $2 million, and was a participant in Y Combinator’s Winter 2013 class.
