Amplitude lands $1.9M from big-name investors to give mobile app devs deeper insight

Amplitude logoSan Francisco-based mobile analytics platform Amplitude has closed a $1.975 million Seed funding round from investors that include SV Angel, Charlie Cheever, Dave Morin, Quest Venture Partners, Data Collective, Merus Capital and BoxGroup. The Y Combinator-backed startup competes in the red-hot analytics space, with a focus on giving developers deeper insight into the performance of their mobile apps and user experience, and making data easily accessible.

It was founded by CEO Spenser Skates and CTO Curtis Liu. The team was a participant in Y Combinator’s Winter 2012 class and previously raised $17,000 as part of the accelerator.
