Offers travelers their ideal travel destination based on personal preferences.

PRODUCT/SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Based on a variety of criteria, in just seconds, Travel Destination Finder offers travelers their ideal travel destination based on personal preferences. Criteria include starting point, desired travel month, ideal temperature, flight time, preferences for proximity to the beach or mountains, desired budget, safety considerations and more. There are over 300 destinations travelers can pick from, along with additional relevant information located on destination-specific pages.

Destination.travel is an easy-to-use and convenient tool for all bold and independent travelers looking for insights and recommendations to help them choose their next adventure.

DIFFERENTIATORS VS. THE COMPETITION

There are a few travel destination recommendation tools on the market, but all of the competitors have some limitations.

jauntaroo.com – This site has some nice features, but the recommendation engine does not work properly. For example, it fails to properly take flight details into account when recommending destinations, and its information from destinations is too limited.

tripadvisor.com/Inspiration – Works ok, but has very limited functionality, so the recommendations are not really customized for the needs of each user.

audleytravel.com/inspiration – Similar to TripAdvisor. There are only a few options from which a user can choose, so the recommendations are not really customized.

FOUNDERS

Destination.travel was founded by Petri Lind.

“After working for a total of about six years with various web development tasks in Finland and Singapore, it was time to try something new. Independent traveling is a passion of mine, and I’ve planned my own trips to nearly 30 countries so far, so I know first-hand what information travelers need and are interested in. I know there are niches in the adventure travel industry waiting to be uncovered/discovered. My development of destination.travel started in Chiang Mai in Thailand at the beginning of 2015. Later in 2015, after staying in Southeast Asia for 2.5 years, I moved back to Finland to continue working on the project.”
