Sygic has launched its real-time location and route-sharing feature to all of its premium users. This integration is made possible through Sygic’s partnership with location-sharing expert Glympse. It means that drivers now have a simple way to communicate their travel plans and progress like never before.

Bryan Trussel, co-founder and CEO of Glympse, explained, “Sharing of location is such a key component in the connected mobility space.

“Partnering with innovative companies like Sygic, allows us an opportunity to provide more robust navigation experiences, bringing real-time location information for drivers around the globe.”

Travelers using Sygic’s GPS app can now share information about their real-time location and movements. Users can provide information on their chosen route, current location and expected time of arrival (ETA).

Founded in Slovakia, Sygic is a Deloitte Fast 50 Company and in 2011 was added to Deloitte’s Fast 500 EMEA listing. The platform produced the first ever turn-by-turn navigation system in 2009 and currently boasts more than 150 million unique users on iOS, Android and Windows combined.

The app taps into our increasing reliance on GPS functionalities on smart devices. For example, according to Pew Research, 67% of smartphone owners use their cellphones to access navigation instructions while driving.

Sygic CEO and founder, Michal Štencl, added,  “Sygic is dedicated to providing cutting-edge GPS navigation to our customers . Our latest integration with Glympse puts us at the forefront of this technology, enhancing our app with intuitive location tools that help people to communicate their travel plans more easily.”
