Ottawa’s SaaS accelerator L-SPARK is closing applications for their Fall 2017 cohort today, August 11th!

The company has been responsible for incubating 29 start-ups since 2015 and are accepting new 10 recruits for their Fall cohort.

One of those 29 companies was FileFacets– a promising company dedicated to developing privacy software. Their CEO, Chris Perram, had a great experience and in November 2016, FileFacets was awarded #NextBestThing at the annual Best Ottawa Business Awards.

Another success story is ed-tech business EssayJack which, before the involvement of L-SPARK, had CEO Dr. Lindy Ledohowski running around doing demonstrations and unsure whether her product was any good. Now, there are over 30 people working on all aspects of the company. She also recently won the 2016 Stevie Award Silver for female entrepreneur of the year.

The program will kick off with Ignition Week, the first chance to meet your mentor, the L-SPARK team, and fellow founders and also includes one-of-a-kind workshops. The following weeks are comprised of planning, pitching and, most importantly, preparation. This is coupled with week-by-week check ins to keep track of progress made on your personalized plan.

Leo Lax, Executive Managing Director of L-SPARK wants Ottawa to become a global player in the Enterprise Software Industry and has served as a board member and CEO of multiple companies in the past. Now, he wants to channel his enthusiasm to help maintain L-SPARK’s momentum, as Lax claims ‘it’s all about momentum.’

The final selection is revealed on the 27th of September (2017) and the program runs from October 1st – June 30th, 2018.
