Los Angeles-based VR gaming startup Survios has landed $4 million in venture funding, according to the company. It is building a proprietary software and off-the-shelf hardware system to compete with Oculus VR and other immersive gaming startups. It was founded in 2012 as ‘Project Holodeck’ by Nathan Burba and James Iliff. The funding round was led by Shasta Ventures, with Gen Isayama of World Innovation Lab and Renata Quintini of Felicis Ventures participating.
