BitGo secures $12M in new funding for its Bitcoin security offerings

BitGo, multi-signature security platform for Bitcoin, has closed a $12 million Series A funding round. Investors include Redpoint Ventures, Bridgescale Partners, Radar Partners, Founders Fund, Liberty City Ventures, Crypto Currency Partners and Ashton Kutcher’s A-Grade Investments. The San Francisco-based startup offers a Bitcoin wallet with multiple signatures—in other words, it includes three security keys and requires two keys to access a user’s Bitcoin. The company also offers a corporate, enterprise-level security option.

It was founded in 2013 by Mike Belshe, CPO Ben Davenport, and CEO Will O’Brien, and this is the company’s second round of outside funding.
