CINEMOOD takes first place in top Russian startup competition and flies past Indiegogo goal for 2016 US launch

The future is looking bright for an innovative, new startup that is changing how families interact with each other and how kids consume media. Named “One of the 14 coolest gadgets from CES 2016” by Mashable, taking first place at the Start Up Village tech competition in Russia and funding its Indiegogo campaign far past its goal (finished at 158%), are just few reasons why CINEMOOD is most definitely a startup to watch.

What is CINEMOOD?

CINEMOOD is the first cloud-connected mini-projector designed for families. Simple and safe for kids and adults to use, CINEMOOD creates magical, cinematic moments that families can enjoy together.

This powerful mini-projector comes pre-loaded with film strips, cartoons, audiobooks and is connected to a cloud library with regularly updated exclusive content. CINEMOOD has partnered with well-known content providers like Zeptolab and HooplaKidz to create “smart covers” that unlock new content on the device. You can play your favorite movies and TV shows from your personal library using a USB drive. Unlike any book or screen, CINEMOOD projects immersive storytelling environments onto any surface for an experience that creates lasting memories for the whole family.

CINEMOOD is the brain child of Mike Bukhovtsev, a dad who was looking for more engaging technology for his 6-year old daughter. From memories of his own childhood that included bedtime stories and reading with his parents, the idea for CINEMOOD was born. Since the 2014 prototype design, CINEMOOD has grown and gathered a team of enthusiasts that include engineers, teachers, child psychologist and parents. In 2015, following acceptance in the Skolkovo Startup Academy and taking first place at the Skolkovo Investors Demo Day, CINEMOOD completely sold out with the release of 3,000 units.

What is next for CINEMOOD:
CINEMOOD is now preparing for its 2016 US and European launch and is positioned to be the “must have” tech gift this holiday season. They are also excited to be among 15 companies chosen to compete in the premiere European start up competition, the Next Step Challenge.

In addition to the successful Indiegogo campaign, CINEMOOD is securing distribution through major US channel retailers.
