PRODUCT/SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Jolie connects busy travelers to luxury transportation and lifestyle services. The startup combines the convenience of on-demand attention with an intuitive mobile app that allows travelers to leverage a comprehensive network of professional chauffeurs.

The platform benefits both chauffeur ground service providers and travelers with a customizable user experience. The client-centered approach lets travelers stay in control by allowing them to set how much they want to pay for the service. Travelers can also make any number of special requests–for example, if they want a snack, a meet-and-greet at the airport, or even their favorite chauffeur, they can be sure their needs will be met. Furthermore, chauffeur service providers are able to organize their schedules and accept or reject incoming chauffeur requests without incurring penalties.

Jolie is currently in private beta in New York City, with plans to expand to additional markets in the future.

What’s unique and different about Jolie is that they are building technology and tools for professional chauffeurs to be able to compete against the Ubers and Lyfts of the world with a luxury focus.

FOUNDER’S STORY

Jolie was founded by a husband and wife team, CEO Tricia Miranda and COO Edwin Miranda.

Mr. Miranda brings four years of transport industry experience to the table, which gels with Mrs. Miranda’s deep understanding of the technology industry.

BUSINESS MODEL

Jolie’s ground transportation clients are served by professional chauffeurs. The chauffeurs have at least two years of experience working as a chauffeur and undergo a very rigorous application and training process. Jolie only allows five percent of the top applicants to work under the platform. The chauffeurs then use their personal phones or the web portal to accept customer requests. Additionally, partner fleets can sign up their entire fleet to work under the Jolie platform. Clients use their phones or the web portal to request a ride on-demand or to pre-book a ride. Jolie sets the rates in which the client is charged that are based on the vehicle type and the amount of time the ride takes, and an optional tip is given to the chauffeur. The client is charged via the app. Jolie takes a percentage of the fare as a customer referral fee.
