PRODUCT/SERVICE DESCRIPTION

SimFin (‘Simplifying Finance’) is a platform for fundamental financial data of listed companies. Our mission is to give private investors the same resources that are accessible to professional investors. All our data is presented in an accessible format and downloadable for free.

DIFFERENTIATORS VS. THE COMPETITION

The key competitors of our product are Bloomberg, FactSet and Capital IQ, all of which are very expensive and mainly used by professionals. Our other competitors are Google Finance and Yahoo Finance, both of which are not reliable and not user friendly; furthermore, their data is often sourced from Bloomberg or FactSet just with only limited access for private users. Our solution is superior because we offer a space where users can share and interact with this data, allowing free and easy access due to a crowdsourced solution.

FOUNDERS’ STORY

Thomas Flassbeck, one of the co-founders of the company, studied a BSc. in Economics at the University of St.Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, and a master’s in Finance at IE Business School in Madrid. Before founding SimFin, he interned in M&A at Rothschild and at a sustainable investment fund. Thomas spent the last year programming SimFin from scratch, building both back- and front-end.

Maximilian Czymoch, co-founder of SimFin, studied a BSc. in Economics and Statistics at University College London and a master’s in Finance and a master’s in Management at IE Business School. Currently Max is full-time working as a consultant and is only active as an investor in the company. He advises the company on all marketing, financial and legal activities.
