Outline.com, which has built collaborative online public policy simulator, has closed an $850,000 Seed funding round. Investors include Knight Foundation Enterprise Fund, Esther Dyson, and the Dorm Room Fund; as well as Angel investors from New England that include Walter Winshall, Ty Danco, and Michael Dornbrook. The startup allows public policy makers to simulate the consequences of decisions before implementing them—CEO Nikita Bier described it as “SimCity but for real life” in today’s announcement. The team also announced that the state of Massachusetts is set to be its first customer. Outline, TechStars Boston grad, was founded in 2011 and is based in Berkeley and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
