CityMaps, which is re-envisioning online maps by letting locals collaborate on maps around local landmarks and favorite places, has raised an additional $1.5 million in Series A funding. It’s positioned as an extension to the $2.5 million in Series A round the company raised in late 2011. The New York City-based startup has created mobile app that allows collaborative building of maps that also allows users to access the library of maps that others have created. Investors in this new Series A round include Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary’s A-Grade Investments. CityMaps was founded in 2010 by Elliot Cohen and Aaron Rudenstine.
