Advertising/Marketing
With $101 million in funding raised to this point, inbound marketing software firm Hubspot has embarked on buying spree, announcing today that it has acquired two firms: Chime, which built a browser plug-in for social media feeds, and Prepwork, which essentially provides automatic briefing documents to prep for meetings and other events. These are Hubspot’s third and fourth acquisitions. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Here’s Hubspot’s blog post about the acquisitions and plans for future buys.
Enterprise
Showpad has landed $2 million in Series A funding for its cloud-based sales team software for the iPad. The funding came from European VC Hummingbird Ventures. The Belgium–based startup was founded in 2011 and has plans to open an office in New York City this May, according to VentureBeat.
Web host Rackspace has acquired Exceptional Cloud Services to expand its offering of developer tools. Exceptional specializes in real-time error tracking during the development process. Here’s more on the deal, from the Rackspace company blog. Financial terms have not yet been disclosed.

Here’s an interesting bit of funding news from a Detroit-based consulting startup called GreenLancer that is using the cloud to source and farm out engineering projects. TechCrunch got the scoop on the company raising $275K in funding from four Michigan-based investors. It previously raised $160K in Seed funding.
