Funding and Acquisitions Roundup: PICT gets a $1.4M boost from an all-star list of investors for its image-based social shopping app

AngelPad alum PICT has raised $1.4 million in Seed funding from group of investors that includes Lowercase Capital, Forerunner Ventures, Opus Capital, AngelPad and 500 Startups. The San Francisco-based startup has built photo technology for brands that essentially embeds smart watermarks into images that gives consumers to get more information about  product and the option of buying it then-and-there. Moonfrye, an online and interactive crafting startup founded by former ‘Punky Brewster’ television star Soleil Moon Frye, has closed $2.5 million funding round. Investors include GRP Partners, Greycroft, Daher Capital and Google Ventures. The company is based in Los Angeles. More on the funding, via Moonfrye press release.

Assured Labor, an app geared toward connecting employers with workers in emerging markets around the world, has landed $5.5 million in Series A funding. Investors in the New York, Mexico City and São Paulo-based startup include Capital Indigo, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, Kima Ventures and Enzyme Venture Capital. Anyone Game, the company behind karaoke app Just Sing It has investors singing to the tune of $1 million (yes, I went there). Investors in the Seed funding round include Tribeca Venture Partners, Lerer Ventures, m8 Capital, Eniac Ventures, Dennis Phelps of Institutional Venture Partners and Bob Geiman of Redwood Technology Ventures, according to TechCrunch.
