IoT guru Zach Shelby teams up with real estate tech startup CubiCasa

March 21st, 2016 – Oulu, FinlandCubiCasa Ltd. today announced finalization of a funding round with existing investors and Zach Shelby, IoT industry leader and an angel investor, to who joins Oulu-based startup CubiCasa as an angel investor. Shelby is widely known for his huge impact in developing IoT technology and in one of his current positions include leading the marketing for Internet of Things at ARM Technologies. Shelby was the co-founder of Sensinode where he acted as a CEO and CTO before acquisition by ARM in 2013.

After unveiling the Content Platform 1.0 at TechCrunch Disrupt 2015 last September CubiCasa has been moving forward rapidly with technology enabling the conversion of any type of a source file, even a hand-drawn sketch, into a scalable floor plan. The Content API allows developers to request content for further development. The company has already provided for over 40 000 digitalized floor plans in 30 countries experiencing monthly double and triple digit growth and is on the way to achieve a floor plan database of one million addresses in North America by the end of 2016. The company has secured over $600K of funding from angel investors and VC’s and is seeking planning for an A-round investment during 2016.

”Our Content Platform will add value to all stakeholders in the real estate value chain. We are building a huge database of property floor plans. We have started from New York as it is a really interesting growing market with a great density of properties. Our North American business has been growing 15% per month with new customers subscribing to our service on daily basis” CEO Pesola describes.

This funding round will allow Cubicasa to build the next level of automation which will make it possible to bring 3D data to existing floor plan models in North America and bring all property data into the cloud. “We want to provide the best platform for real estate and housing professionals. Brokers and agents, home automation, interior design – the CubiCasa platform redefines what a floor plan is capable of,” CEO Pesola states.
