Looksery, a mobile video app that lets users modify their ‘video selfies’ through real-time filters, has passed its $30,000 initial Kickstarter goal with 129 backers. The campaign still has 23 days to go. The idea behind the app is to make available rich, detailed filters that actually change the characteristics of the user’s face. It offers a number of bundled filter packages, as well as video hosting offerings, through the campaign. The company claims that it has five patents pending involving real-time face-tracking technology, and is ultimately looking to license its core face tracking and face modification technologies to call centers, handset manufacturers, cosmetic companies and telcos.
