Move Loot gets $2.8M in loot of its own for its online furniture consignment shop

Move Loot, San Francisco-based online furniture consignment startup, has closed a $2.8 million Seed funding round. Investors include First Round Capital, Index Ventures, Google Ventures, SV Angel and Y Combinator. The company runs an online used furniture marketplace utilizing a consignment model, where the company picks up the furniture from the seller’s location and then takes care of the entire sales process for the seller.

It was founded in 2013 by Ryan Smith, Jenny Karin Morrill, Bill Bobbitt, and Shruti Shah, and is graduate of Y Combinator’s Winter 2014 class. This is Move Loot’s first round of outside funding.
