San Francisco-based Peerlyst, a peer network for IT professionals, has completed a $3 million Seed funding raise. The round was led by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners with participation from Illuminate Ventures. The company’s social network is designed specifically for IT and security experts to help address day-to-day issues at a more specialized level than other professional networks. It offers users an updates feed that includes verified product reviews, discussions, news, vendor announcements and user posts. Members can contribute their experience and knowledge to the community by reviewing products, participating in discussions, and asking and answering questions.
It was founded in 2011 by Limor Elbaz, and this is its first round of outside funding.
