Ripple partners with Tunstall to build first ever wearable support network

Ripple Network Technologies (RNT) has launched a kickstarter campaign to get funding for Ripple, a new personal safety device that builds the world’s first wearable support network.

When in use, Ripple customers have on-the-go access to Tunstall’s professional monitoring team 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Users can signal monitoring teams when they need help with just a click of a penny-sized Bluetooth device.

RNT was founded in 2015 by co-founders Rees Gillespie and Jaime Gomez, with the aim of supplying people with a support network that could be accessed at anytime. The partnership with Tunstall — a UK based healthcare group — will supply vital assistance in people’s times of need.

Casey Pittock, president and CEO of Tunstall Americas, said, “We are excited to partner with Ripple to offer its customers a true solution to personal safety.

“Whether walking alone at night, meeting somebody new for the first time, facing immediate danger, or even traveling the country, Ripple’s device and service […] keep you one click away from the help you need.”

When in a moment of danger, users will just have to click their wearable — or the app — and the Tunstall team monitoring them will call their smartphone immediately. In an extreme emergency, users can click the device three times and emergency services will be dispatched immediately.

Gillespie said, “Even in today’s connected world, there are moments when we feel alone and unsafe. Help can seem a little too far away, or we may be too embarrassed to ask for it. I developed Ripple for the comfort and peace-of-mind it provides.

“Knowing someone has your back, anytime, anywhere, is an incredibly empowering feeling.”

For a limited time on Kickstarter, Ripple is offering its Bluetooth wearable, along with a year of service, for $129.  It is also possible to buy a sterling silver device for $199, designed by fourth generation jewellers, Louis Tamis & Sons.
