Predictive sales and marketing intelligence startup 6Sense has announced its public launch and the closing of a $12 million Series A funding round. Investors in the round include Battery Ventures, Venrock and Silicon Valley Bank. The company is competing in an increasingly crowded data-driven marketing intelligence space with a product that taps into behavioral data to help marketers and salespeople predict when customers are actively looking to buy, and then take action to reach them. The San Francisco-based company was founded last year by Premal Shah, Dustin Chang, Viral Bajaria, Shane Moriah and Amanda Kahlow.
