Moving AI from pilot projects into production is creating opportunities for engineering companies that help enterprises integrate models into existing systems. Beyond model selection, businesses must address data architecture, security, governance and the operational requirements of deploying AI across critical workflows.

Gorilla Logic, an engineering company focused on building and modernizing enterprise technology, has appointed Steve Daly as chief technology officer. The appointment comes as the company expands its AI engineering capabilities and joins Anthropic’s Claude Partner Network as a Select Services Partner.
Daly will lead technical efforts to help organizations move AI initiatives beyond experimentation. His responsibilities will focus on the architecture, data and engineering foundations needed to deploy AI systems across business-critical environments.
The appointment reflects a broader challenge for companies commercializing enterprise AI: providing access to models is only one part of implementation. Businesses also need systems that can integrate with existing infrastructure and deliver repeatable results.
“AI is changing what companies can build and how quickly they can build it,” said Drew Naukam, CEO of Gorilla Logic. However, he added that “enterprise adoption requires much more than access to a model.”
Engineering expertise becomes central to enterprise AI adoption
Daly brings more than 35 years of technology and consulting leadership to Gorilla Logic. He most recently served as senior vice president of solutions for global digital transformation at New Era Technology, where he led its global AI practice and initiatives spanning cloud transformation and enterprise innovation.
His experience includes working with startups, mid-market companies, Fortune 500 businesses and public-sector organizations. He has also led large-scale modernization initiatives and advised executive teams on digital transformation programs.
Daly said successful AI implementation requires connecting technology to the organizations using it. “AI creates tremendous opportunity, but technology alone doesn’t create transformation,” he said.
He added that “the real work is connecting AI to the business, and the people who have to operate it every day.”
Gorilla Logic plans to expand its work across AI-native product and platform engineering under Daly’s technical leadership. The company aims to apply its engineering capabilities to help clients integrate AI into complex business environments.
The announcement did not disclose specific customer deployments, financial targets or measurable outcomes tied to the expanded strategy. Instead, the appointment signals an investment in technical leadership as the company develops its enterprise AI services.
For engineering startups and service providers, the opportunity extends beyond building AI applications. Enterprises also need support integrating those applications into existing operations, where reliability, governance and measurable business outcomes will influence whether experimental projects become long-term deployments.
