New EPA updates regarding emissions regulations have many vehicle fleet operators wondering not if but when they will begin their electric vehicle (EV) transition. Upfront costs of vehicles and necessary charging infrastructure, however, can be prohibitive.

Synop, a Brooklyn, New York-based startup, is setting out to make it as easy as possible for fleet managers to make the shift to electric.

The company is launching a new mobile app that makes it possible for fleet operators to monetize private charging depots as well as other benefits.

Fleet Driver Mobile App allows fleets to extend private charging depot access to commercial partners, setting their own energy prices and adding revenue through charger monetization. The app also allows operators to equip their drivers with in-app RFID cards, making authorization and instant payments even easier.

“Our new mobile app marks a significant milestone in the evolution of electric vehicle fleet solutions,” said Gagan Dhillon, co-founder and CEO of Synop. “Through advanced features like seamless charger discovery, optimal charging options, and effortless payment processing we’re removing the headache and annoyance often associated with EV charging on the road for fleet operators and drivers.”

Synop is a platform for electric vehicle fleet solutions that provides operators with money-saving energy management capabilities, including generating revenue through Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. In 2022, the company raised $10 million in seed funding to scale its operations, and has since expanded and opened up a research and development laboratory in Brooklyn.

The Fleet Driver Mobile App is the latest in a long line of solutions the startup provides fleet operators. The company also offers an on-edge device, Synop Link, which enables charger and microgrid optimization to maximize uptime and minimize cost for a fleet’s operations, as well as a suite of charging management and vehicle fleet management software.

The mobile app integrates with the Synop web application, enabling users to access the platform with no additional configuration or onboarding required. Charging prices created on the web application are readily visible to users on the mobile app, ensuring consistency and transparency. The app can also be white labeled, providing all the same Synop functionality with user branding.
