The gaming accessories market is not limited to competitive players building elaborate desktop setups. Millions of people play from their sofas, switching between controllers, handheld consoles, and smartphones. Yet many ergonomic accessories have historically been designed around the needs of PC gamers.

nerdytec wants to reach that broader audience with the Couchmaster® CYPAD, a new product that brings the company’s couch gaming concept to controller and handheld users.

The launch represents an expansion of nerdytec’s existing product strategy. Its previous Couchmaster models focused on players using laptops, keyboards, and mice. The CYPAD instead targets households where gaming happens on the sofa, without a traditional desk-based setup.

The product is a padded cushion that wraps around the player’s body and fastens at the back. It supports the arms, elbows, and wrists, allowing users to rest their controller or handheld device without holding their arms unsupported for extended periods.

A new product category within the Couchmaster ecosystem

The CYPAD includes two large side pockets for storing accessories such as controllers, phones, and power banks. An adjustable fastening system accommodates different body sizes, while its washable fabric cover comes in three colors: black, camouflage, and brown.

The product is available in two configurations. The version with a 13-foot USB-C cable costs $69.90, while the cable-free version is priced at $59.90. The included cable supports simultaneous charging and data transfer, allowing players to keep their controllers powered during gameplay.

The accessory is also compatible with nerdytec’s CYCON Couchmaster line, extending the possibilities for players who want a more complete couch gaming setup.

The company’s previous products have received recognition from gaming publications. PC Gamer scored its CYCON³ at 88 out of 100, while Windows Central gave the CYCON² a rating of 4.5 out of 5.

“We designed the CYPAD especially for controller and handheld devices, while keeping everything people love about the Couchmaster®,” said Roman Jakob, co-founder, CTO, and lead product developer at nerdytec.

The launch also comes ahead of the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release could bring renewed attention to accessories designed around extended controller sessions.

By extending its lineup beyond traditional PC gaming, nerdytec is positioning the Couchmaster brand for a wider range of consumers, including casual players who prioritize comfort and convenience over specialized gaming equipment.
