New activity-based matchmaking app set to launch Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s day is right around the corner, but you’re in luck if you are still looking to find a special someone to spend the day with. Invite and Meet will be launching its new dating platform in the US on February 14th, and it just might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

“How the heck am I going to meet someone on an online dating platform on February 14th and manage to go out with them that same day?!” I hear you cynically shouting in your head. Well, Invite and Meet lives up to its name. Unlike other popular dating apps like Tinder, Invite and Meet’s goal is to get the app users up and out of the house and sharing meaningful experiences in the real world, not chatting surface for weeks only to have the online relationship fizzle.

With the help of Facebook the company has managed to create a mobile application capable of finding people who are geographically close and connecting them, after both parties swipe right (meaning both are interested in connecting).

And with 72% of Millennials reporting they would like to increase their spending on experiences this year, the app is responding to real need. As other leading dating apps have been seriously failing to help couples make the jump from mobile platforms to real-world hangouts. A study even found that as many as 70% of college students said that they haven’t actually met up with anyone from Tinder in real life and that they use the app for confidence-boosting and procrastination.

Invite and Meet encourages its users to invite each other to their favorite places, events, and activities and gives them a better chance of fostering meaningful connections and having enjoyable experiences, regardless of if your meet up partner turns out to be “the one”. The event-based app takes the pressure off the first meetup and makes it all less intimidating and more enjoyable.

“There is no better way to develop meaningful connections or romantic chemistry than having fun sharing a favorite activity,” said Alexandre Lang-Willar, Co-Founder and CEO of Invite and Meet.

The app also suggests nearby popular activities and trendy destinations, including restaurants, bars, cafes, nightclubs, movies, concerts, shows and sports events, making it an effective and simple tool to keep up with interesting events in your area, as well as find someone to enjoy the events with.

The company had their soft launch in  Miami, and already thousands of Miami locals are using and enjoying the app, and February 14 it will available to everyone across the US. And if you happen to be in Miami, they are having their launch party February 14th, on the rooftop of the new SLS Hotel, downtown Miami, which is sure to be a good time (as an event focused app probably knows a thing or two about hosting enjoyable events).

It’s already available for iOS and will be coming very soon for Android users.
