Customer-centered 30-year technology veteran new VP of Business Development
HOUSTON – SoftNAS, the #1 best-selling software-based NAS in the cloud, has announced that Michael Richtberg, a 30 year veteran in IT transformation has joined SoftNAS as Vice President of Business Development. Richtberg will lead business development to enable new market segment expansion and will report directly to the President and COO.
In his new role, Richtberg will help enterprise businesses who struggle to close the gap formed by disparate islands of legacy data that is inaccessible without costly hardware investments. Richtberg will contribute to the SoftNAS mission by demonstrating the value of adopting a software-based cloud infrastructure in an easy to deploy product that is seamless, secure and simple to use in any environment and on the most popular cloud computing platforms.
Richtberg brings a wealth of experience and has held leadership roles with industry leaders such as Dell, Citrix Systems, Inc., (NASDAQ: CTXS), NCR (NYSE: NCR) and storage virtualization pioneer, GreenBytes. Throughout his career he has led dozens of new product initiatives resulting in exponential growth for enterprise businesses and new multi-billion dollar revenue streams.

Richtberg’s experience ranges from entrepreneurial product strategies in cloud computing and software-defined infrastructure, to the creation of end-to-end offerings designed to simplify and accelerate the adoption of mobile and virtual desktop computing. Richtberg has served as VP, Product Strategy of Austin-based Pivot3, and recently as a Principal Product Strategist at Oracle (NYSE: ORCL), in a post-acquisition integration role of GreenBytes to Oracle ZFS. Formerly, Richtberg served as the VP, Product Management for Providence, RI-based GreenBytes.
Richtberg has held multiple business development, strategic planning and acquisition roles at Dell, Inc. While there he was pivotal in developing new market strategies, industry partnerships and developing joint solutions marketing for Windows virtualization and enterprise architectures.
Previously, Richtberg founded the start-up, Blutech Innovations, Inc., and held leadership roles for Citrix, a multi-billion dollar global leader in on-demand access infrastructure solutions. During his tenure at Citrix, Richtberg provided strategic planning for the $1 billion Virtual Solutions Group to sustain long-term competitive marketplace advantages. Additionally, he was responsible for two market leading and award-winning products and successfully leveraged worldwide partner-based marketing channels to achieve high growth. Richtberg’s experience at Citrix also included new product strategy, there he led progressive new product investigations and market differentiation resulting in an accelerated seven-digit sales growth for Citrix.
Richtberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, where he graduated with honors.
