Companies To Take The Stage Before Judges from Kleiner Perkins, DFJ, Google Ventures, HLM Ventures and TEDMED

Boston – April 7, 2014 – LivePitch Media and AARP today announced the five LivePitch Speed Pitch finalists that will take the stage for the third AARP Health Innovation @50+ LivePitch, a showcase of the hottest startups in the “50 and over” health technology market. The event takes place Friday, May 9, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

The five Speed Pitch finalists will join the 10 LivePitch finalists announced last week. Each Speed Pitch finalist will have a lightening-fast 1 minute to pitch their company and product to judges, investors and 50-and-older consumers who will be in the audience. 193 companies applied to pitch.

AARP Health Innovation @50+ LivePitch is unique among startup pitch and demo events because it gives startups access not only to venture capitalists and angel investors but to thousands of fifty-and-over consumers. AARP Health Innovation@50 + LivePitch takes place at the bi-annual AARP Life@50+ AARP National Event & Expo, which is attended by 15,000 members and guests from across the globe.

This year’s expert Judges include: Shirley Bergin, Partner, COO/CMO, TEDMEDKleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers Partner Lynne Chou, Peter Grua, Partner, HLM Venture Partners, Mohanjit Jolly, Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Krishna Yeshwant, General Partner, Google Ventures.

One Speed Pitch winner will receive a trophy for AARP Popular Speed Pitch Award; one-on-one mentoring meeting with Unity Stoakes, co-founder & President, StartupHealth and mentorship with the AARP Innovation team.

Investors and industry professionals are invited to register to attend now. The LivePitch Earlybird registration rate is only $99 until April 11, after which the price increases to $199.
