ComfyLight AG recently announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to fund production of its smart light bulb that actively protects your home from intruders. The campaign went live at www.comfylight.com/kickstarter on January 22nd, 2016, and aims to recruit early backers for this unique security solution.
The ComfyLight LED bulb makes burglars believe you are home when you are not. It learns how you and your family move around your home and automatically simulates this behavior when you are out, without requiring complicated programming of timers and settings. With ComfyLight, it always looks like someone is at home from the outside, which makes you a less attractive target for intruders. In addition, the ComfyLight app lets you stay in touch with what is happening in your home while you are away. It detects motion in a room and sends notifications when something is amiss. ComfyLight automatically warns neighbors as well and scares intruders by flashing. When you are at home, ComfyLight offers automatic lighting, switching the soft white LED light on and off as you walk in and out of a room.
ComfyLight has received numerous awards since 2014, most recently winning the CES Innovation Award. After three years of research and development, the product is now ready to enter the market. This Kickstarter campaign aims to raise $55,000 to put ComfyLight into production. Potential investors can receive a timely reminder of the start of the campaign by registering their interest with their email address on the ComfyLight website. The first 300 applicants will secure a 55% discount on their ComfyLights.
Easy to use
The ComfyLight LED lamp comes packed with sophisticated technology, while still being extremely easy to operate. Simply replace as many bulbs as you like in your home with ComfyLight, download the app and connect the ComfyLights to your smartphone. ComfyLight is then ready for use, and you can check in on your home anytime, anywhere.
Use with confidence
The ComfyLight app shows you which members of your family are at home at any time, but privacy is also a priority, and respected. The app displays an icon for each person, so no photos or video footage. The data is held on servers in Germany, which are certified to handle highly confidential medical data.
“Our research into the Internet of Things at the University of St. Gallen gave us valuable insights into the smart home market,” said Stefanie Tuber, CEO and Cofounder of ComfyLight. “We were unable to find a security solution that gives homeowners and tenants peace of mind. Conventional systems don’t trigger an alarm until the burglary has already happened – they don’t proactively protect the home. Plus, installation is often quite complex.”
