Mobile search app Leap2 has landed $1.6 million in second round funding. The Kansas City, Missouri-based startup focuses on contextualizing mobile search by utilizing a number of elements from across the web. Investors in the round include Dundee Venture Capital, OpenAir Equity, Linseed Capital and the Wichita Technology Corporation, according to Silicon Prairie News.

Skytree, a machine learning startup focused on large, complex data sets, has raised $18 million in Series A funding. Investors include U.S. Venture Partners, UPS (yes, United Parcel Service), and Sun Microsystems co-founder and former CEO Scott McNealy. Finnish enterprise content management startup M-Files has closed a €6 million Series A funding round. Investors include DFJ Esprit and Finnish Industry Investment. M-Files utilizes a metadata approach to content management that pulls together data no matter where it is stored (in the Cloud, on-premise, etc.). More on the funding, from GigaOm.
