Netatmo, a Paris-based startup that makes weather and environmental sensors for use with iOS and Android devices, has secured €4.5 million in its first round of funding. Investors in the round include Iris Capital, FSN PME (the French government’s National Fund for Digital Society), and investor Pascal Cagni, the non-executive director of Vivendi SA and Kingfisher PLC, and former Apple EMEIA [Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa] executive. The company has built and offers a personal weather station device for consumers. The device, which is compatible with iOS and Android, measures both outdoor and indoor environmental conditions, including noise pollution and build ups of carbon dioxide in indoor spaces.
