Finding customers is one of the biggest challenges for entrepreneurs entering traditional service industries. While established contractors often have sales teams, market intelligence, and dedicated estimators, independent operators frequently have to rely on personal networks and trial and error to secure their next contract.
SkyPSI is attempting to close that gap with Operator+, a free application designed to help drone operators identify commercial cleaning opportunities and estimate how much individual projects could be worth.
The Dallas-based technology company announced the nationwide launch of the platform, which maps 17.1 million commercial buildings across the United States and generates estimates for drone-powered exterior cleaning jobs.
According to the company, the average commercial project represented on the platform is worth approximately $13,500. Users can access the estimates with a Google account, while additional subscription plans provide tools to manage customer relationships and reach property decision-makers.
“Every building in your city is a job” is how founder Vic Pellicano summarized the opportunity behind the platform, arguing that access to commercial property information has traditionally favored larger contractors.
A software platform designed to lower barriers to entrepreneurship
Operator+ combines commercial property data, job pricing, and business management tools in a single application. Its main feature, SkyEstimate, calculates the potential value of cleaning a particular building and explains the methodology behind each estimate, allowing operators to prepare quotes with greater confidence.
The platform also includes scheduling, customer and job management, online invoicing, and Sky, an AI-powered virtual crew chief that answers questions and helps operators identify buildings that match their capabilities.
The free account provides access to building estimates and the application’s core operational features. Paid subscriptions add immediate contact information for the decision-makers responsible for commercial property contracts. Every new account also receives a 30-day Starter trial.
For Pellicano, the initiative addresses a structural disadvantage faced by smaller service providers: knowing where to find profitable work and how much to charge. Reflecting on his own background, the founder described growing up in a trailer park and living out of his car before building technology businesses. He sees Operator+ as a way to make commercial opportunities more accessible to people without established business networks.
The platform also represents an expansion of SkyPSI’s original business model. The company launched in August 2026 in Dallas-Fort Worth, initially focusing on connecting independent operators with commercial exterior cleaning contracts. Its model combines professional cleaning drones, operator training and certification, and commercial projects that the company sells and supports.
Drones could help change the economics of exterior maintenance, particularly for buildings that traditionally require workers to operate at considerable heights using ropes and specialized equipment. With an FAA-certified pilot controlling the aircraft from the ground, operators can perform certain cleaning tasks without requiring workers to remain suspended alongside building facades.
The technology could also make more frequent maintenance economically viable. According to SkyPSI, buildings that were previously cleaned once a year because of the expense and risks associated with rope access could receive several cleanings annually through drone-powered services.
Operator+ is currently available to operators in markets across the United States, including Phoenix, Pittsburgh, and Portland. While the application initially focuses on exterior cleaning, SkyPSI says its underlying infrastructure could eventually support additional commercial equipment and services, creating more opportunities for independent businesses.
“The robot economy is going to create millions of small businesses,” Pellicano said, describing cleaning as the “first door we’re opening.”
The company’s longer-term ambition is to make robotics accessible beyond large enterprises by giving independent operators the technology and commercial infrastructure needed to build service businesses. Whether that translates into sustainable new ventures will depend on their ability to convert the platform’s estimates into signed contracts, but SkyPSI is betting that access to information and automation can make that process easier.
