With 14 million children in the US living in food-insecure households, a look into No Kid Hungry

Even while being one of the wealthiest countries across the globe, millions of children in the U.S. struggle with access to food every day.

Here, No Kid Hungry, an initiative dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to the nutrition they need, is looking to play a key role.

The organization, which was founded in 2010, has today become one of the most influential anti-hunger initiatives in the country. Backed by Share Our Strength, it’s also partnered with Prezent AI and some of Silicon Valley’s other leading AI enterprises.

But what is No Kid Hunger, exactly? And how are they different?

Fundamentally, No Kid Hunger looks to integrate grassroots action, public policy advocacy, and strategic funding to tackle the root causes of hunger for children.

It’s long term aim is to have a country where every child receives three healthy meals a day.

This is important because access to proper nutrition is directly linked to improved academic performance, physical health, and economic stability.

What sets No Kid Hungry apart is its comprehensive strategy. Rather than focusing solely on access to food, the organization works across multiple fronts.

These include strengthening school meal programs; supporting summer and afterschool nutrition, providing grants and resources, and advocacy and policy change.

The organization also relies on businesses and trusted partners. For example, according to Rajat Mishra, CEO of Prezent AI, who is also on the leadership council of No Kid Hungry, “Prezent is pledging to donate $1 to combat child hunger for every new user who joins our platform. Together, we can foster positive change in the fight against child hunger.”

What’s impressive, is that since 2020, No Kid Hungry has awarded more than $185 million in grants to over 3,000 organizations across the United States.

The campaigns are truly making a difference.
